Guandaokou Gr
Type Locality and Naming
Western Henan. The Guandaokou Gr was named by the Party of Regional Geological Survey; Henan Bureau of Geology in 1981. The type locality is Guandaokou, Lushi County, western Henan Province. Synonym: Nantianmen Gr, Xialuanchuan Gr, Luonan Gr, Yihe Gr, Baiyugou Gr and Xiangziping Gr are all considered as different names of Guandaokou Gr, and are all abolished at present.

Lithology and Thickness
The Guandaokou Gr is composed of the Gaojiashan Fm, Longjiayuan Fm, Xunjiansi Fm, Duguan Fm and Fengjiawan Fm, which are consists of neritic clastic rocks and carbonate rocks association. [See these component formations for details.] It bears abundant microplants in clastic rocks and stromatolites in carbonate rocks. The total thickness varies greatly from 1950 to 5440 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It is in unconformable contact with underlying Xiong'er Gr volcanics (Majiahe Fm is the uppermost formation in that Group).
Upper contact
The top is a disconformity with the overlying Luoquan Fm Tillite (Nanhuan/Crogenian); but schematic stratigraphic column shows it is regionally also overlain by the Luanchuan Gr (Qb/Tonian; which may encompass Dazhuang Fm of early Qb/Tonian of Neoprot column 22 of this region?).
Regional extent
It widely spreads in Lushi, Lingbao, Luanchuan counties, Henan Province, extends westward until Luonan County, Shaanxi Province.
